John Towse is an experimental psychologist. He has served as Honorary Secretary for the Experimental Psychology Society and Secretary for the European Society for Cognitive Psychology. He helped to establish one of the first open science communities in a UK Psychology department at Lancaster University. He was founder and former Editor-in-Chief of the interdisciplinary Journal of Numerical Cognition, a platinum Open Access journal launched in 2015. He has published research on open science practices.
